Why do we celebrate Holi? For grown-ups like us, this is a very simple question. We can tell the stories related to this Hindu festival and walk away. However, when a child asks the same question, it becomes very important to satisfy his or her curiosity effectively. What children learn in the early days remain with them forever. So, what should be the best way to tell a child about the importance, the story behind and the ways to celebrate a very popular Indian festival Holi? Well, for all those who are worried about teaching their children the Indian ethos and culture, I have a solution. You can refer to the books by popular Indian children’s authors and one among the best is undoubtedly Anitha Rathod who has been writing fine children literature for a while now. She has written, illustrated and portrayed in pictures and words what we cannot easily communicate to our growing generation.

My advice to the parents and also to the caring elders is very simple. If you want to let your children know the reason behind Holi, do gift them something to remember. This illustrated book by Anitha will not only improve their awareness about our culture and Indianness but also ignite their interest in reading meaningful literature.
