The Protectors of Aesner

Any person in the world must wonder how the messiah would look like. Every person in the world must acknowledge it he or she must have heard the stories which feature some kind of messiah who just swings around, does some stunts and save the entire human race. Am I wrong by any means? Though not exactly the messiah, the people about whom I will be talking tonight are some of the ‘superhumans’ who are special and possess the power with which they would save the humanity once again – of course in a fiction, in a novel penned by young author Srinath S. The Protectors of Aesner is the name of the novel.

This novel is a mixed bred, a pleasant amalgam of science fiction, the occult and also fantasy. There are planes which can travel almost at the speed of light (a little lesser than that maybe); there are cities built entirely in the underground; there are humans who possess the superpowers; there are ‘agents everywhere’… The Protectors of Aesner, as a novel, can take twists and turns anywhere and so, be ready for a bumpy ride, readers!

The plot features three entirely different people from different places. Yuki from Japan, Karthik from India and Dave from the US are the main protagonists or the protectors. Their life turns entirely on a sudden pleasant day when they find themselves imprisoned in a hi-tech prison encircled by the electric waves. (Remembering some science fiction movies like Guardians, hun?) From there, their journey begins as the protectors who have to save the world by waging a crusade against the black sciences and ancient black magic. Their adventure takes them to Somalia’s little city where the world is almost at a different plane…. people are animals and animals are people… there is a secret and that secret is dark! Nevertheless, our brave protectors save the people of Xibaak and free them from the curse. Does their adventure stop with the book? No! The author Srinath S is ready with another sequel as he told in an interview with TeamBR_Online. Link to interview: Interview with Srinath S

Critically, the author has tried his best to give the book the best he could and he largely succeeded in his attempt, too. Srinath S has weaved a fiction which surpasses the typical vein of science fiction and also the regular fantasy fiction. He did not make it entirely Harry Potter neither did he make it entirely a Time Machine. Wonderfully enough, he has let it be a little humane and which only is the soul of the fiction drive. His superheroes are not Shaktimaans or Batmans. The plot of the novel might seem a little hurried as if the author wants to achieve the end too soon. Somehow, Srinath has managed to end it well. The narrative is simple and good to be read. The theme of the novel, as I told earlier, is a mixed bred and can be enjoyed by almost anyone who reads it.
