Sachin is the true God of Cricket
Sachin Tendulkar is the name that defines millions of dreams, uncountable ambitions, and billions of hopes. He is ascribed the “God of Cricket” title by his fans! The right-handed batsman, who carried out a billion Indian dreams for 24 years, is not only the best cricketer world has ever seen, but also a perfect embodiment of how a human being should be. In spite of his daily growing popularity and prosperity, Sachin Tendulkar remains the same – the humble boy with curls.

I don’t remember him ever indulged in any feud, brawl or a fight inside or outside the cricket stadium. The legend batsman is perhaps the only one who did not express frustration or contempt for the umpire even when he was unfairly judged out. (And we know better that there are batsmen who get angry even when the umpire is 100% correct). In short, Sachin is the one ‘all want to be.’
The purpose of writing this article:
Recently, I was watching videos on youtube featuring Sachin Tendulkar. Everything else was fine except one troubling nuisance. There is a person called “Tanvi Agharwal” who constantly keeps omitting disrespect and venom against the legendary batsman. I concede that it’s a democracy and we have the right to love or hate anyone we want. However, it is sheer rubbish if someone tries to interfere the domain of people who have an affinity for someone/something. This person regularly bullies everyone who posts any appreciating comment about the great Sachin. Upon the remark that TA made, I had asked some questions and annunciated that if I get the regular garbage in reply, I won’t reply back. Here is a summary of what we exchanged:
TA: Sachin has fake followers. I checked the accounts of his twitter followers and found that they were not even activated. Comments about Sachin that all the legendary cricketers have made are sarcasm camouflaged with words. People should not respect Sachin; he is a piece of “abuse”. He is shitchin, not Sachin.
My reply: How did you get the backend access to twitter profiles to judge accounts are activated or not? I will need to redefine sarcasm to understand the logic. You should ask your parents where they respect Sachin or not. An Indian can love, admire, like, just be okay with or dislike Sachin. An Indian can never hate and disrespect Sachin.
TA again: You “abuse” as Indian, you can hate MSD but not Sachin? There are other better players than Sachin. He did never win us match etc etc etc…
Now, this is my reply to Tanvi Agharwal’s issues raised.

I think you have already accepted your defeat and got down to the level of abusing me. It’s all fine! I can understand. Well, I did never say that I hate Dhoni. In fact, no one can hate Dhoni as he has raised the moral of the team and won us two world cups! Every cricket loving Indian and anyone in the world who loves cricket, must admire and respect Dhoni. However, you cannot compare Dhoni and Sachin. Sachin is a class; he is a benchmark that all other can only think of reaching! Even Dhoni and all other great players of cricket admire Sachin. Well, let us talk about some practical views.
The IPL patch: We all know what has started to happen in India in the name of this masala cricket. The report of the Mudgal committee is very much open to everyone. Who were the players named in that? We all know. Let us admit that cricketer of the modern era are much confused by all the glamour and wealth flow that they see around themselves. You cannot expect from them to alleviate themselves to the height of Sachin. Nevertheless, the spectators stand with them in any situation. We love Kohli, MSD, Raina, Rohit and all. But to become Sachin, you have to earn respect!
Sachin: On the other hand, pick any day from his herculean career, you cannot find a single stint on his character, his enthusiasm for the game or his attitude towards cricket players. It’s not only his batting but his behaviour, the way he presents himself, the way he interacts with his opponents and simply everything about him that makes him a legend. For example, I will show you something:
The reaction of the ‘God of Cricket’ after a beamer and others:
I hope you can see what’s there in the both reactions.
Let us have a view on some of the records of the little master:
- He has more 90s than most of the cricketers’ centuries: 18!
- He has the unique record of hitting centuries in the debut Ranji, Duleep and Irani Trophy.
- He has the record of hitting 9 centuries in a calendar year – 9, the most by any batsman in the world cricket!
- He has scored the most number of runs, 1894, in a calendar year.
We all love him; we all respect the ‘God’! He is a phenomenon that happens only once in million years! However, you are free to call him names or anything, but the voices that hail him as “God of Cricket” will always be louder and louder! Love you, Sachin!
