Calendar changes and with it, change our goals. Are you ready?

January 2021 Alok Mishra note diary

Hello, dear readers! Been a while since I shared something personal with you all. And this is the night when we reflect both the ways – what was there and what will be here. We consider the past and ponder over the future. However, most of the times, we make a very common mistake. We don’t pay attention to our present. And this is something that I have also been doing very often. In this calendar year, 2021, I will try my best to focus on what is there in the present. This is the best insurance for our future. Whatever we do in our present has the power to influence our future and correct the mistakes we might have made in the past as well. So, this is my first new year resolution – focus on the present, mend it, bend it, try hard and make it count!

The second resolution is very much related to what I do all the time. Writing. Since this blog has been left alone for a good period of time, I have made it very clear to myself that I will be sharing very frequent blogs here. I will be sharing personal opinions, literary stuff and book reviews with the readers who come to visit these things on my official website.

2020 was a difficult year! Many people lost many things and no one was there who could not feel the pressure of loneliness, fear of survival, worries about progress… so on and so forth. However, it was also the year that taught us to be minimalist, look for the things which are essential and helping those who need help. Without being disrespectful to anyone, it was a year of blessing in disguise for those who love reading wonderful books. Many readers wrote to me that they have been reading all the good books they only heard about in the past. This was indeed a good use of the prolonged lockdowns, self-isolation and time at home which could not be utilised otherwise unless someone had to work from home. So, the year had many things to take from us and a few things to offer as well. The most important lesson was about being realists, minimalists and helpful.

Many things happened in different parts of the world as well. Trump being the outgoing and Macon’s resolution to fight terrorism as well as China’s isolation, not only in Asia, but worldwide have been some very important events. India, looking retrospectively, did very well and we have been highly successful in fighting and surviving against the deadly COVID-19 infection except for a few states which have been indulged in petty political breast-beating. Delhi, Kerala, Maharashtra and West Bengal have been very confused because of the leadership there. Delhi, to be honest, had been a major mess in India’s fight against the Corona virus.

Let’s hope, nevertheless, for a better year. Let’s hope that 2020 will be wonderful, progressive, prosperous and rewarding for all of us. Let’s hope that students get back to track with regular studies, opened schools and colleges. Let’s hope that the economy gets back on the highs on various charts. Let’s hope that our elders and youngers don’t have to live with a constant fear of the virus!

In the end, I would like to say a very heartfelt thanks to all of you, dear readers! I have been monitoring the activities on this website and there are many readers who comment, read and share the content. Thanks to all of you! And I promise that I will continue sharing wonderful literary stuff with all of you regularly. Let’s do our best and give it all in 2021! Have a wonderful night!

A very happy 2021 to all of you!
